Frequently Asked Questions

How do I sync photos from my Mac?

Install Memories Companion — the free Mac companion app — on your Mac. Pick a folder of photos (or your Mac Photos library), enter the 6-digit pairing PIN on your iPhone, and your photos arrive over Wi-Fi. Both devices must be on the same network.

Are my photos encrypted?

Yes. When encryption is enabled (Settings > Security), photos are encrypted with AES-256-GCM. Encryption keys are stored in your iCloud Keychain and never leave your devices.

What is Decoy Mode?

Decoy Mode shows a fake photo gallery when a different PIN is entered. If someone tries the wrong PIN, the app can capture an intruder selfie. Enable it in Settings > Privacy.

How do I back up my library?

Go to Settings > iCloud Backup and tap “Back Up Now”. Your encrypted backup is stored in your personal iCloud container. You can also enable automatic backups on a daily or weekly schedule.

How do I delete all my data?

Delete the app to remove all local data. For iCloud data, go to iOS Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Memories and delete it.

How do I share a diagnostic report?

Go to Settings > About > Share Diagnostics. The report contains only app logs and device info — no photos or personal data. If the app crashes, you’ll be prompted on next launch to share a report.
